For the last few days I have been taking it easy... working in the garden, pruning branches and raking leaves ready for the summer. Today it was so windy that I thought I would do something indoors. For a long time I have wanted to know how those old 1960's cushions my Mum had were smocked. Unfortunately I never knew the right name for it so Google was no help. Tada! Today I received a letter from my friend Jen with instructions on how to do 'Canadian smocking'!! Below is my first attempt. This is actually a design I saw on Michelle Carragher's website, called Dragonscale!
Below is the wrong side of the fabric. Even this has possibilities!
It's really not that hard to do and looks so amazing!
